David Pearson

Squamish-based filmmaker David Pearson is fascinated with adventure films. His work as part of Reel Water Productions has been broadcast and featured in festivals around the world, covering a wide variety of adventure sports — from ice climbing and paragliding to cave diving and whitewater kayaking. His ideal project is one where the environment is wild, the goal is lofty and everyone suffers a lot. Capturing stories in difficult and remote locations is Pearson’s way to travel the world while simultaneously being employed. Pearson is the director of the film Locked In: First Descent of the Beriman Gorge (Mountainfilm 2016) which follows the first kayak descent of the Beriman Gorge.
