Dana Karwas

Dana Karwas is a media artist and instructor at NYU, where she teaches courses in interactive performance art, interaction design and project development for interactive media. She is also the co-founder of The Satellite, an experiential, photo-realistic portrait of Earth that combines real-time imagery with remote sensing data from hundreds of satellites to present viewers with a true, three-dimensional vision of their planet from the perspective of the International Space Station. Karwas holds a bachelor’s from the School of Architecture, Design, and Planning at the University of Kansas and a master’s from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is based in downtown Brooklyn at MAGNET, NYU's Media and Games Network.
