Photographer Galen Rowell was a regular guest and great friend to Mountainfilm, which is why we’re thrilled to team with the American Alpine Club to present the 2012 Galen Rowell Award to photographer and alpinist Cory Richards, who was featured in the 2011 award-winning film Cold. The award honors an adventurer whose artistic passion illuminates the wild places of the world and whose accomplishments significantly benefit both the environment and the people who inhabit these lands and regions.
