2009 FEstival: Aspiring Filmmakers

The Program

For the third year in a row, Mountainfilm and Telluride Academy will team up to offer the Aspiring Filmmakers Program (formerly called Student Rendezvous) during the four-day festival weekend. The Aspiring Filmmakers Program is designed for junior and senior high school students who are interested in filmmaking and videography.

Students accepted into the program will follow an engaging itinerary of film screenings, outdoor activities and intimate conversations with filmmakers. Students will judge films to present the special Aspiring Filmmakers award at the closing picnic.

COST

The cost for the Memorial Day Weekend program is $200 per child. A $50 discount will be available to local Aspiring Filmmaker families who agree to host out-of-town students. Financial assistance will be available for qualifying students (based on a letter request written by the student and outlining his/her financial need).
