If you go to Jeff Scher’s website (fezfilms.net), there’s text that reads “Reasons To Be Glad.” When you click on these words, a new webpage opens that states “Sorry, we’re still working on this page.” When the link gets up and running, we hope it lists Jeff’s marvelously mellifluous paintings as a reason to be glad. He considers himself a painter working in motion, and his work has been collected by the Guggenheim and MOMA. At Mountainfilm, he’s exhibiting single frames—or cells—from his animated short film, White Out (playing this weekend, along with some other Fez Films). It’s something we are certainly glad about.
