Survivors of a brutal, decade-long, civil war in Sierra Leone (1991-2002), a group of musicians find themselves together in a refugee camp and form a band. Through music they find a place of refuge, a sense of purpose and a source of power which they share with their fellow refugees who, like them, have lost their homes and their loved ones and have suffered deep physical and emotional scars. The All Stars embody the best of the human spirit – the ability to sustain hope and find forgiveness even in a climate of rage and loss.
