What Remains
Steven Cantor
Photographer Sally Mann first became widely popular—and wildly controversial—with the publication of her collection of family portraits, Immediate Family, in 1992. Nude photos of her own prepubescent children caused some to label her work as “child pornography.” Fourteen years later, filmmaker Steven Cantor turns the camera’s lens on this charismatic photographer in a full-length documentary, chronicling her newest photo series, which includes various images of death and decay.
