Sacred Angkor Wat
Chris Rainier
In the tropical forest where Angkor Wat lies, life is slow and spirits hold their ancient form. Within this powerful temple, a forgotten king’s pride once enslaved thousands and ruined a rich culture. The complex system of moats, spiraling towers, walls with twisted vines and Banyan trees is now enveloped by dense jungle and swarming with bats. The ritual burial mounds, the elaborate temple, the soaring Buddha—all speak of a yearning to turn human matter into divine energy. Angkor Wat reminds us that grand human dreams endure only when they embrace the forces that drive the jungle vine.
